Fly Casting

Casting Practice/Lessons: Our fly casting lessons are to help everyone improve their casting.  Casting lessons will be on the following dates at Walking Park on Jackson-Keller Road at McCullough Ave.

This is for both beginner and intermediate casters.  Experienced casters are also encouraged to attend to help teach.  With practice and instruction, we can all improve our casting.  Bring your favorite fly rod and reel, and I’ll see you at the park!

• Fly Tying

  
  AFF members gather every Tuesday and tie flies and share stories. There are some great teachers there who are willing to help new members get started. AFF also has formal fly tying classes annually.

• Knots

  The AFF has special sessions on Tuesday nights where knots are taught and practiced.
  Schedule for knot tying classes.

• Fishing

  The Orvis site has numerous videos on fly fishing.

• Where to Fish

  AFF members frequent the Hill Country streams and the Texas coast. Members also fish out-of-state and out-of-the country. Lots of tales are told at the Tuesday night fly tying sessions.
